Premier League referees this weekend

The Matchweek 6 appointments once the Premier League publishes them, and every referee's record so far this season.

Who is refereeing each Premier League game this weekend, what every referee's record looks like so far this season, and the VAR overturns from the last round. Names come from the Premier League's Monday appointments list and the match data feed; nothing here judges whether a decision was right.

Matchweek 6 appointments

The Premier League has not yet published the match officials for Matchweek 6, which starts on Saturday 10 October 2026. This season it has published each round's appointments on the Monday of match week (Matchweek 1 on 17 August, Matchweek 2 on 24 August, Matchweek 3 on Tuesday 1 September, Matchweek 4 on 7 September, Matchweek 5 on 14 September), so the Matchweek 6 list is expected on Monday 5 October 2026. This page carries the names once they are out.

Referees and VAR decisions by club

Each club page lists who has refereed every game, the record under each referee, and every VAR overturn in that club's games.

What is counted here. The data feed records that VAR intervened and what the outcome was: a goal ruled out, a goal awarded, a penalty overturned, a card upgraded. It does not record whether a decision was right, and neither does this page. "In favour" and "against" describe whose goal, penalty or card the overturn concerned. The only bodies that rule on correctness are the Premier League's Key Match Incidents panel and Pro Ref, the referees' body formerly known as PGMOL; where the panel has published a verdict it is quoted with its date on the KMI panel page.

Common questions

When does the Premier League announce the referees?

On the Monday of match week this season: Matchweek 1 on 17 August, Matchweek 2 on 24 August, Matchweek 3 on Tuesday 1 September, Matchweek 4 on 7 September, Matchweek 5 on 14 September (all 2026). The list names the referee, assistants, fourth official, VAR and assistant VAR for every game. The Premier League publishes it on its referees hub; this page adds each official's record for the season.

Who has refereed the most Premier League games this season?

Michael Oliver (5), Darren England (4), Jarred Gillett (4), across the 50 games played up to 20 September 2026.

How many referees are in the Premier League group?

The Premier League named 39 referees in the Professional Referee Group for 2026/27 (Premier League list of match officials for 2026/27, 24 August 2026). 18 of them have refereed a Premier League game so far this season; the rest have been on EFL or other duties, which this site does not track.

What is Pro Ref?

Pro Ref, in full Professional Game Referees, is the new name of the referees' body PGMOL. The change took effect on 1 July 2026, with the Select Groups merged into one Professional Referee Group (The FA, 29 June 2026). Searches still use both names. How refereeing works in 2026/27 has the detail.

Does this page say whether a referee got a decision right?

No. The tables count games, cards and VAR overturns as recorded by the data feed. The only published verdicts on correctness come from the Premier League's Key Match Incidents panel, which are quoted with their dates on the KMI panel page.
