Carrick's first full season at Manchester United is nearly here.
Michael Carrick took the interim job in January and steered Manchester United to third place and a Champions League return. Now the job is his outright, on a deal to 2028, and this is his first full season in charge. He has spent the summer rebuilding the midfield, bringing in Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa. United begin away at newly promoted Hull City.
How the interim run ended
These numbers are from the 2025/26 Premier League season, not the one about to start. Carrick's half-season in charge lifted United to third and back into the Champions League, and Bruno Fernandes set a new single-season assists record along the way.
Bruno Fernandes also won the FWA Footballer of the Year and the Premier League Player of the Season for that campaign.

Getting a ticket for Old Trafford
Home tickets at Old Trafford are in high demand and most league games sell to season ticket holders and members well before any general sale. Availability and prices vary from match to match and change through the season, so treat the notes below as a guide and check the official ticketing pages for what is actually on sale. Buying through the club is the only way to be sure a ticket is genuine.

When tickets remain after season ticket holders and members have been served, they go to a general sale on the club site. Popular fixtures can sell out before reaching this stage, so it is worth checking early and keeping an eye on the on sale dates for each game.

An official membership gives supporters earlier access to buy tickets ahead of any general sale, which for the busier games is often the realistic route in. The club sets out what each membership includes and when members can buy for a given fixture.

The club sells official hospitality packages that pair a seat with dining and lounge access on the day. These sit at a higher price point than a standard ticket and tend to have wider availability, so they can be an option when general tickets have gone.

Old Trafford is well served by Manchester's tram network and by rail on a matchday, and most supporters travel in by public transport. Parking near the ground is limited and heavily restricted around games, with road closures and residents only zones in force, so an official or pre booked space is by far the most reliable option if you must drive.

The Metrolink tram is the most popular way in. The Old Trafford stop on the Altrincham line and the Wharfside stop are both a short walk from the ground, and trams run frequently to and from Manchester city centre.
Train
The Manchester United Football Ground halt sits right by the stadium and is served by special matchday trains from Manchester Piccadilly. Trafford Park station on the Manchester to Liverpool line is another option within walking distance.
Driving and parking
Matchday parking around Old Trafford is limited, and residents only restrictions and road closures apply near the ground. If you need to drive, an official or pre booked car park is the safest bet, and it is worth arriving early and checking the club's guidance first.
