Champions League
The top four clubs qualify for the Champions League. For 2026/27 there is also a fifth place available through UEFA’s European Performance Spot, awarded to the associations whose clubs performed best in Europe the previous season. When England earns it, five Premier League clubs reach the Champions League.
Europa League and Conference League
The places just below the Champions League spots lead to the Europa League, with one route into the Conference League. Domestic cups matter too: winning the FA Cup or the League Cup earns a European place, which can change how many league finishing positions convert into each competition.
